A Vision For So Much More Than Nails

Can I just tell you that this post is months–no, years–in the making, and I am super excited to share this with you! My fingers can hardly type fast enough! I have discovered my vision for my business.  Okay, that sounds a little silly, but let me explain. Everyone talks about how important it is to …

An Open Letter

Dear Jamberry Friends,

I woke up this morning to news of the uncertainties that you face right now. First of all, let me just take a moment to say…I am so sorry. And that is not just a typical platitude. When I first heard about what was going on, my first feeling was to feel the air sucked out of me. Might sound weird coming from someone who is part of a competing business. But for a moment, I’d like to put that aside and just be your fellow sister in direct sales. Plus, your company has always had a special place in my heart because the first direct sales party I ever attended was a Jamberry party.

I can only imagine what it is like for you.

I get it. Sort of. I understand how a company and a team becomes your family and part of your identity. I understand how the business culture becomes your culture and the lingo becomes your own. Before I was with GelMoment, I was with another company that I loved dearly, and still love to this day. I loved the products and most of all, I loved the people. I started GelMoment as my second business, having no idea how rapidly my team would expand. And one day it got to the point where I could no longer balance those two businesses and I had to say goodbye to my old company. That was hard. Like super gut wrenching, stay up all night hard. It took me months to finally say goodbye. It was like an extension of me was gone. But, it was on my terms, it was because my other business was successful, and it was not a complete surprise. So that’s why I say I only sort of understand.

As you walk through uncertain times, I just wanted to share some encouragement that was once shared with me. Maybe you are panicked because you rely on your income to live, or to provide for your kids. Or maybe your business is your social outlet. Whatever the reason you chose to join Jamberry, the uncertainty may leave you shaking. I genuinely hope that things can get worked out with your company. But if it doesn’t, take it one day at a time. Mourn the things that need to be mourned, and be grateful for the relationships with team members and customers that you will cherish for the rest of your life. Take the time to grieve as necessary, and then one day you will find yourself ready to try again and put your 100% into another business.

I will leave you with this quote from John Piper that has been immensely helpful to me as I have personally walked through heart-wrenching times in my life:

“Occasionally, weep deeply over the life you hoped would be. Grieve the losses. Then wash your face. Trust God. And embrace the life you have.”

Best wishes to all of you! Let me know if there is some way I can help you!
